The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones

The film rights to The Mortal Instruments were optioned by Unique Features, the film production company set up by former founders and co-presidents of New Line Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne, who oversaw the production of the Lord of the Rings movies, back in 2009. They then teamed with Constantin Films to produce and film the actual movie, with Sony Screen Gems distributing and Harald Zwart directing. The film will be based on the first book and called The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
The movie was filmed in Toronto and New York. The worldwide release date is August 23, 2013. Up to date set reports and photos of the cast can be found on The Mortal Instruments Facebook page.
